About 100 students competed in the annual Barracuda Networks Programming Contest at CSE, with teams creating bots that in turn played the card game "Put." Team "Medium Pepsi" won the first prize of $3,141.59.

First Student on HKN Board of Govs

CSE graduate student Kyle Lady has been elected by national chapters of the IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) honor society to serve as the first student member of the organization's Board of Governors.

48 Hours = 17 New Video Games

Wolverine Soft, the student group dedicated to the development of video games at Michigan, has held its annual 48-hour Game Jam, with 70 students participating. "Polar Coordinator" was chosen as top game.

Dr. Héctor J. García (CSE PhD 2013) will be inducted into the Bouchet Graduate Honor Society, which recognizes outstanding scholarly achievement and promotes diversity and excellence in doctoral education and the professoriate.
